Ration Card: The government has implemented a new rule regarding ration across the country.

Ration Card: The government has implemented a new rule regarding ration across the country. Under the National Food Security Act, the central government has issued a new directive to ration shops to ensure availability of adequate amount of food grains to the beneficiaries.

If you too are a ration card user and are taking advantage of the government's free ration scheme, there is good news for you. Modi government's ambitious 'One Nation One Ration Card Scheme' has been implemented across the country, after which online electronic Point of Sale (POS) devices have been made mandatory in all shops. Due to this decision of the government, no beneficiary will get less ration anymore.

No more problems in weighing the ration!

In fact, the Central Government has amended the provisions of the Food Security Act to link electronic vending machines with electronic scales in ration shops to ensure availability of adequate amount of food grains to the beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act. After this it is mandatory for all dealers to have electronic scales. And the government is also conducting studies for this so that no more quotas are stolen.

The new rule has been implemented across the country

After this order of the government, now all the fair price shops in the country are connected with online electronic point of sale i.e. POS equipment. This means, there is no chance of any ration weight being messed up anymore. As the government has provided hybrid model point of sale machines to the ration dealers, the beneficiaries of the public distribution scheme should not get less ration under any circumstances. These machines work in offline and online mode if there is no network.
